Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have 2 of these I have two of these outdoor cameras and the dvr. They work great. Everyone I show is impressed by the resolution at day and also at night. The only issue I have are shadows. I have some palm trees and in the wind their shadows set of the motion detection. One more thing is that spiders like to make their webs in front of the camera to catch the bugs around the infrared light, so I have to clean them regularly. Oh and I wish I could scrub the video in the software. I have my cameras continously recording and if I want to jump forward in the video I can't. I plan on adding 2 more cameras to use the other 2 channels on my dvr. I have Ring doorbell and the camera quality is terrible, I might get a Night owl doorbell as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A lot of Great Features The Night Owl 1080p Wi-Fi smart security system arrived with easy to follow hookup and installation instructions and with all parts accounted for. We mounted 2 of the cameras on the outside of the house and 2 on a large shed outside. The cameras video is very clear and the spotlights work nicely. We already have captured a video of several deer in the backyard and a bear drinking out of our hummingbird feeder. I really like the two way audio feature especially for the camera by the front door. It’s also nice to know if I want to expand I have an additional 6 channels I can use with a 1TB hard drive. I’m so happy with this system and the security it has brought my family!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bang for your buck I just bought the system on Saturday because on Thursday night I had a tire and rim stolen off my car. I have been wanting a system that was with in a specific price range and never really looked at Walmart untill Saturday. I seen these and bought them. I love how now I can view from my phone or off my TV in my bed room. Live 24/7 feed no matter where I am. Along with now I can catch who ever stole my stuff. Wish I would have found these before my rim and tire was stolen. Will be buying 5 more to finish up the 8 channel. They have a customer for life now.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Outstanding Camera Quality Both Day and Night! Fast delivery of product as shown and promised. Cameras were easy to install, but the DVR/NVR setup was not all that simple or as easy as expected. After several reboots and needing to create a DDNS ID, Password and Domain name we were finally able to get the system set up and configured to our personal preferences. The camera quality is outstanding! Wide view and bright colors in daylight and crystal clear B&W images at night. I've owned two prior systems from another company and I will never go back after seeing the Night Owl perform.

I needed it to be wireless because of the setup I needed. The setup was very easy and straightforward. The cameras linked to the DVR first try and I have no problems with anything. The clarity of the cameras is GREAT. Crystal clear in the day and night. The infrared is really good. It lites up my whole yard and the 2-way audio is good for talking to someone you see on your camera. I will definitely be adding a few more cameras to my system.

Do I need the internet or an app to use the 2way audio or is there something on NVR? There's no internet or smart phones in this house. Can parts be backed up to usb flash drive? Can I get this with a 4, 6 or 8TB hdd? I need to be able to record 3+ month

Good Afternoon. For 2-way audio, the talk functionality is linked to our free mobile app. Without that, you would only be able to receive 1-way audio, meaning you could hear what the cameras detect. Yes, recordings can easily be backed up to a USB flash drive or an external HDD. You can upgrade the HDD if you choose, though we discourage customers from opening the shell of the DVR as doing so could damage the unit and void your warranty. Thank you for choosing Night Owl!

I am thinking of purchasing one of your four wifi camera systems for my house but were I want to place a couple of camera there is no electrical outlet near by, is there a solar panel I would be able to purchase to power the camera?

We do not currently have any products that are compatible with solar panels. We will, however, soon be launching a Wire Free (Battery Powered) 1080p camera that is compatible with this model. That could be the perfect solution for those hard to reach areas without close access to an outlet. Please check back on our sales site for add-on wire free cameras, which should be for sale within the next 1 to 2 months. Alternatively, you could also use a standard extension cable to bridge the space between the camera and outlet. Thank you for choosing Night Owl.

What is the total record time of the 1TB harddrive. What is the max I can put into the wireless system

This is a 10 channel Wi-Fi NVR and can hold up to 10 cameras. Max record time depends on many factors. By default, our products are set to motion record, meaning they will only record when the cameras sense motion within the detection area. How long it takes the hard drive to become full depends on: 1) the size of the hard drive, 2) how many cameras are connected, 3) the recording resolution the cameras are set to, 4) the environment where the cameras are installed (how much traffic they detect) and 5) the recording setting for each camera ( motion, continuous, time schedule, etc...).
