Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love This Doorbell Was pretty skeptical about how well this doorbell would work, but could not be happier. A neighbor of mine had one and strongly recommended it. So I decided to give night owl a try. This doorbell captures everything and sends me alerts, for free. I can also speak with someone at the door through the app. Very happy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My thoughts Great product, would have given 5 stars if not for the poor instructions. Video is very clear. SD Card saves me from paying for a cloud service. However, I had to make modifications to my house that should have been in the instructions. The unit says 12v to 24v, which is inaccurate. My unit will not run properly at 15.7V. Had to change my door bell transfer to a higher voltage. It ran fine at 18.4V. However, my mechanical chime started buzzing because of the higher voltage. Solved this by installing the included resister into my mechanical chime which the instructions again was wrong as it told me to only install on a digital chime. Passing car lights will set off the detector even at the lowest sensitivity. However because of price, SD card, low cost and video quality, I am giving this product 4 stars.

Because of what was learned on the first, this installation went well, but the second unit did not include the complete installation and operating instructions. Nightowl does a less than perfect job of making sure that all documents and miscellaneous parts are included with every shipment.

I show them to everyone and have had numerous coworkers purchase cameras as well. I just purchased my first interior camera and it arrived yesterday and was added with ease. I'm addicted to these and believe I will continue to add cameras so my garage and basement are covered.

Is this compatible with my CAN-WNVR201-44P 4 camera system?

No, this particular doorbell is not compatible with that model. It is compatible with our WNVRC20 and HC20X Series or can be used as a standalone via Wi-Fi connection. Thank you!

One of the Options is to record video on a hard drive. Does that require using your wireless device or can it be saved to a NAS or external hard drive?
