Amazing quality.
We live in an area with a lot of wild animals and often they get into the garbage or even cause other kinds of damage. Finally, I can keep alerted of the cameras pick up any movement. The best part is that I can be sent a real time alert, that also has built in spotlights and scare off the critters. The quality is smashing, clear picture and such a huge convenience to the house. I was even fortunate enough to catch someone trying to steal a package off my porch. They saw the cameras and put the package back on the porch, it was awesome! I highly recommend this for anyone needing a little extra security. I plan on buying this for my dad for Christmas.

Amazing 4K security system
I totally am in love with this night owl 4K security system. I got tired of relying on my internet connection to be able to save and stream my properties video feed. This is all on a 1TB hard drive and honestly it’s a very easy setup. Everything is wired. Each camera comes with ample length to run a connection to different areas of your house or property. So far the Apple app it pretty good. I have very fast internet so my stream is perfect remotely. I love the clarity and the spot light motion sensor. It makes getting a clear shot at night easy. So far I am loving this system and might upgrade for other cameras.

Amazing video quality
Just what we needed for video security. It can be hooked to your wifi network, or kept completely off the net. The setup took about 20 minutes, each camera has 60ft of wire, and it's own DVR. It needs to be hooked up to your own tv or pc monitor. but everything else is included. When you set it up, you password protect it, which is another great feature.

Easy Peace of Mind
Received this video surveillance system expecting a complicated setup but that's not the case. Installation instructions were simple and clear. It is pretty much plug and play. Download the app and set it up and you are good to go. The 1TB hard drive will store plenty of footage. There are 4 additional ports to expand to 8 cameras if you need. The 60 ft camera cables allowed us to place them exactly where we needed them with some to spare. For this price I can't find any reason to not get the system. Totally worth every penny.

Camera system is great app is unusable
We have owned the night our security system for several years, we are on our third system. The last system that finally wore out this week we purchased in 2017 and utilized The night owl HD app. I utilize an old tablet as a monitor in my work area so that I can see when I have deliveries. The tablet is mounted and displayed my four primary cameras throughout the day uninterrupted. It is too far from the system itself to use a cable to have the normal monitoring. This app is absolutely useless for a constant monitoring. It shuts down right at the most inapt time and then takes forever going through all the steps to get it back up and running again. Basically this app is made my system useless for my every day use and is making me reconsider night owls system.

Love this security
This system was pretty easy to install, if you have DIY experience. The recordings are very clear. It is easy to navigate the app and check on things while away. The hard drive has alot of storage space which is an added bonus. The cameras are holding up well in the hot/cold/rain etc. I love the motion activated spotlights for when I come home after dark! I do not have to remember to turn lights on before I leave! There are no monthly fees with this system, and your hard drive stores recordings. One time fee to purchase. You can buy more cameras and expand up to 12 cameras as well if you need more. Must have system.

Great Viewing Quality
We've had this system for almost a month. It replaces another system. This one is amazing. The clarity in the viewing is the best we've had in over 5 years. I'm able to see perfectly at night. We also enjoy the added benefit of security when we're away. It is expandable to accommodate more cameras. It can store up to 2TB. That will last us forever. The app is so simple to use. Since it is wired, we had it professionally installed, and it took only a couple of hours. We compared quite a few before choosing this one. Best part is, there's no monthly fees. We've already purchased the door cam, which we will be able to connect with our system and view them all on the app.

spotlights are great!
WOW! Awesome buy! I had the installer put all 8 cameras inside and outside around my house. I love the feature on the app where you can shut off the spotlights because I really didn't want the lights in my house but absolutely wanted them on all outdoor cameras!
The lights are super bright which I love so it's like a deterrent for anyone who comes on my property!

how are the cameras arranged on tv? I have older night owl now with 8 camera dvr. it shows up as selected channel fullscreen then 4 camera screen then other 4 camera screen then all and all is 9 equal squares with one blacked out (8 camera system).
There are multiple options for setting up the camera view.

I just ordered a pack of these cameras. I have a DP8 series dvr (DVR-DP8-122-TW1). I have received the camera's and installed. Why are these camera's only showing in Black and White, no color at all? All my other camera's are in color.

How can you see your recorded video is it thru an app or computer?
You can view using the App if the DVR is connected to the Internet using a router or modem. To view recordings on a PC or Mac, you would download the CMS software from the device's support page.

You can use an external hard drive to download files from the DVRs hard drive. You cannot use a keyboard.
