My previous Night Owl model included a separate backup battery. It stopped working outside of the warranty. Can I purchase ONLY the dvr? My cameras work fine.

Does ea camera need a power source...like a wall plug? Or does it power off box?

Hi and thank you for the question. This system comes with 1 x camera power adapter and 1 x 4 Way Power Splitter. The cameras have to be connected to the DVR using the included 60 ft. cable. The yellow video portion will directly connect to the rear of the DVR and the red power portion will need to be connected to the camera power adapter. All four cameras will be connected to the one camera power adapter using the 4-way power splitter. The adapter will then need to be connected to a wall outlet. Thank you for choosing Night Owl!

When you say "wired camera" does it mean that the camera needs wires to connect to the DVR or wires to connect to the electricity powe source or both
