Rated 5 out of 5 by from This DVR are compatible with AHD Cameras ? I recently bought your DVR but I want to know if this device is compatible with AHD cameras and if I need to use any HD Video Balun because the supplied wire is not enought or can I use a traditional Video Baluns?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from i like the unit,, but... ordered the unit, and got a hard drive to install,, then - surprise - the unit doesn't come with a hard drive mounting bracket, nor does anyone sell one that will fit a 3.5" drive and fit the case,, so I had to get a drive bay bracket and modify it to work. specs say either 2.5 or 3.d drive will work,, would have been nice to know in advance that a 3.5" drive would require some extra creativity to install- is there a reason nightowl doesn't either supply a bracket or at least have one available for order?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Replacement I purchased this unit to replace a Swan dvr unit that cooked its circut board one day. I just installed the 1TB hard drive from my burned Swan dvr into the Night Owl dvr and formatted the HDD through the setup wizard and that was all. That simple. everything else was plug n play. Cameras work with no problems. I have to admit that this dvr unit is much better with the ease of use and app support. Excellent interface to navigate. I'm glad i found this system.

Where can I get the latest firmware?

Please connect your DVR to the Internet, using an Ethernet cable, and then access the Firmware update within the DVRs settings. Please refer to your manual for more information. Does this record video that I can view later or do I need a hard drive?

You will need to install a hard drive with this DVR. It can accommodate up to a 6TB internal SATA HDD, 3.5" minimum 7200RPM. Thank you for choosing Night Owl!

I had a Poseidon 85 DVR that just died after 10 years! So sad. Anyway, is this DVR compatible with the cameras from that model. I believe they are the exact same as the black cameras listed as accessories here. Thanks in advance!

4 Cameras: one says no feed, when I unplug a different feed the one out pops on. but when I plug in the feed again that particular feed stays off. so basically I can go around to all 4 cameras and plug in and unplug but one always stays off, Power issue?

Most likely, yes. It's possible your camera power adapter or splitter is failing. Additionally, do you have any of these cameras installed further than 60 ft. from the DVR? If so, then you may be experiencing a power draw issue when the camera goes to activate Night Vision. I have an AHD10 B DVR one tb hard drive. I would like to replace the hard drive with a larger one. What is the largest hard drive that I can replace it with.

I have a MODEL DVR-AHD10B-81-RS 8 Channel h.264 DVR w/1TB HD that i bought at Costco that has stopped working. What is the replacement product for this that will work with my cameras

I have the DVR 8, and it seems to be working very well. The only question I have, is that it takes a few minutes to send out the email or after a motion detection. Is there a setting somewhere that can shortness to immediately. Thank you
