(1) Internet and Smart Device access requires a router and High-Speed Internet connection with a minimum 3 Mbps upload speed. If your recorder is not connected to the Internet, you will not be able to remotely view your system on your Smart Device. May require a free firmware update.

(2) The recorder and push alerts are currently accessible on iPhone®, iPad®, and Android™ running on 4G/5G Smart Devices. Night Owl® doesn’t charge monthly fees to view or control your recorder over the Internet and/or Smart Device. Carrier fees and charges may apply.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great DVR for the Money Night Owl DVR are super great DVR reasonable price long lasting,for a 1080P DVR the recording are clear pictures on the Play Back ,the Police got a Mugshot of the one that broke in my Truck and was able to Identify that Low Live individual , by day end I got my tools back ,,,I do recommend this DVR and all other Night Owl Poduct this is my 3rd DVR from Night Owl , with this 16 Channel 1080p Bluetooth DVR I will be able to had 4 more Wi-Fi Cameras to the system . Not only this is a Great DVR but cannot forget Customer Service that always got my back on issue that I could not resolved ,,,also I got what I paid for great quality DVR and Cameras

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality overall Absolutely the worst cameras you can ever buy less then 90 days water getting in the cameras and they will not warrant it . Tech support is always in a rush to get off the phone if they will ever answer your call and there 30 days return policy sucks I will never buy these cameras again in my life. If its raining and snowing the cams will send you notifications all day long it can't tell the difference people or rain. The cameras are definitely not weather resistant less then 30 days i have moisture in the lens.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not so great features I have this equipment for 3 weeks now and there are some features to improve: definitely the App; besides not so user friendly it doesn’t respond fast enough when want to have access for a quick view or to check a sensor alert. Also I have to close it totally very often to make it respond and load the cameras. The other not so good features are the cameras speakers and the siren. Those aren’t good quality and hard to understand the prerecorded message or when having a conversation by the two way audio cameras. On the other hand, the good things it has are the good quality video of the cameras and the no need to have a tv or monitor connected to set up the system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing quality. We live in an area with a lot of wild animals and often they get into the garbage or even cause other kinds of damage. Finally, I can keep alerted of the cameras pick up any movement. The best part is that I can be sent a real time alert, that also has built in spotlights and scare off the critters. The quality is smashing, clear picture and such a huge convenience to the house. I was even fortunate enough to catch someone trying to steal a package off my porch. They saw the cameras and put the package back on the porch, it was awesome! I highly recommend this for anyone needing a little extra security. I plan on buying this for my dad for Christmas.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing 4K security system I totally am in love with this night owl 4K security system. I got tired of relying on my internet connection to be able to save and stream my properties video feed. This is all on a 1TB hard drive and honestly it’s a very easy setup. Everything is wired. Each camera comes with ample length to run a connection to different areas of your house or property. So far the Apple app it pretty good. I have very fast internet so my stream is perfect remotely. I love the clarity and the spot light motion sensor. It makes getting a clear shot at night easy. So far I am loving this system and might upgrade for other cameras.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Worked decent at first I bought this system and installed it in July of 2022. In November of 2022 the two cameras mounted at my entrances stopped recording any events. These are the two in the system you can speak through. Another of the cameras infrared light no longer works. I've done the recommend updates to the firmware for both cameras not recording and nothing has changed. The cameras that are still working, work fine Very disappointed especially with the amount of money spent on this. The app is useless if you are away from your home, good luck trying to play any videos back or even seeing a live feed of your cameras.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Peace of Mind Received this video surveillance system expecting a complicated setup but that's not the case. Installation instructions were simple and clear. It is pretty much plug and play. Download the app and set it up and you are good to go. The 1TB hard drive will store plenty of footage. There are 4 additional ports to expand to 8 cameras if you need. The 60 ft camera cables allowed us to place them exactly where we needed them with some to spare. For this price I can't find any reason to not get the system. Totally worth every penny.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Camera system is great app is unusable We have owned the night our security system for several years, we are on our third system. The last system that finally wore out this week we purchased in 2017 and utilized The night owl HD app. I utilize an old tablet as a monitor in my work area so that I can see when I have deliveries. The tablet is mounted and displayed my four primary cameras throughout the day uninterrupted. It is too far from the system itself to use a cable to have the normal monitoring. This app is absolutely useless for a constant monitoring. It shuts down right at the most inapt time and then takes forever going through all the steps to get it back up and running again. Basically this app is made my system useless for my every day use and is making me reconsider night owls system.

How to setup night vision or its automatically ? My parents have 4 wired cameras, but if there is no light in the backyard , they are not able to see nothing. Im not sure if is some missing configuration. Thanks

Do I need to add an ethernet cord directly from my router to the DVR if they say they are "bluetooth"?

The DVR needs to be connected directly to a Router or Modem using the included Ethernet Cable to use the remote viewing App and to receive automatic software updates. The Bluetooth feature is only used during setup.
