Add On Security Camera

Each 1080p HD add on security camera must be connected to a compatible Night Owl® DVR. The cameras do not function as stand-alone cameras. Each camera includes a 60 ft. video/power cable to connect it to the DVR (maximum run length of 160 ft.). The cameras are compatible with Night Owl® DVR Systems (C20X & C50X Series).

It let me arrange the system for my needs which made the wife and i very happy. If i want to add more cameras later on i can. I have already recommendded this product to my friends.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good price for all the channels offered. We have had a night owl unit for five years and it did great until recently with hard drive failure and other issues. So I priced this unit and a very good price for 16 channels offered. Bought and put into service..only been over a week now but seems fine. Only reason for four stars is because unlike our other unit on play back and recording on a memory stick, I could record and view all cameas in one backup onto the stick. This unit only allows you to record only one channel at a time...time consuming...and you can only view two cameras at a time when playing play back?...why not all like the other?......maybe you guys and tweek your software out to accomplish this like your other units? For the price and all the channels offered I would recondmend at this time.......only time will tell if it holds up?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Needs 12 Channel Viewing Option I bought this Hybrid DVR as soon at it was launched as an upgrade to my previous Night Owl DVR because I wanted to incorporate my Night Owl doorbell in the same system as the rest of my home cameras. The PC CMS software was not even available yet. I have been using Night Owl products for over 8 years now and I am love their systems, reliable but does not break the bank. The CMS software for the PC is now available but I am disappointed that it does not give the option to view 12 channels at a time and no playback feature either for PC. The viewing options are 1, 4, 6, 8, 9, 16, 25 channels. Do I need to remind Night Owl that this is a 12 Channel Hybrid system? Customers should have the 12 channel viewing option, especially in my case that I am using all 12 channels. I shouldn't have to use the 16 channel viewing option, just to have 4 blank channel spots on my screen. Please fix this.

Wired cameras have a spot light to deter thieves but 2 of the lights come on and 2 do not and I have the settings on all cameras with light turned off. One of the cameras is constantly in black and white and can’t get color but love them other than the one camera in black and white and can’t turn the spotlights off.

are these cameras compatible with the older NVR10 series ? I need a replacement camera, and am having trouble finding information on if it's compatible ....

I cannot get my DVR to connect to a monitor or a TV screen it keeps telling me that the format is not supported what do I do with that I can watch my cameras on a monitor or on the TV while I'm at home instead of just on my cell phone

Please ensure 1) that your TV/monitor is powered on, 2) the DVR/NVR is powered on, 3) that you are tuned to the correct HDMI port on the TV/monitor, 4) that your video cables are securely connected and 5) that your TV/monitor is a minimum 1080p resolution. Are these cameras compatible with HDA30 series system?

No, these cameras aren't compatible with your current system. Your current system does not have spotlight functionality. As these cameras are equipped with a built-in motion-activated spotlight, that feature will not work with your current setup. My question has been posted and then deleted twice now. Whoever works in this department has some issues. My question should be a simple one : Is there an option to disable the wireless signal on this system? Why is this a complicated question?

Good Afternoon. Apologies for the issues you have experienced posting and verifying the question. No, the wireless cannot be disabled. However, you do not have to use the built-in network. For remote viewing on a Smart Device or computer, you will need to hardwire the DVR to your router via Ethernet cable. That is optional. If you don't want to remotely view your system, you do not have to network it. You can elect to view it on a TV or monitor as a CCTV system via HDMI. The built-in network is simply for connecting our compatible 1080p wireless cameras. If you do not want to to that, you are not required to do so. You can just use our wired 1080p cameras. What is the max length of add on cable that can be used for wired cameras? Thank you!

You can go up to 160 ft. from the DVR using BNC coaxial cabling. We sell 60 ft. and 100 ft. extension cables on our website. If you need to go further than that, we would strongly recommend getting our video balun and using a single Ethernet cable run. Our video balun is used to convert BNC connectors to Ethernet ports. This allows customers to use an Ethernet cable (Cat5/Cat6) in lieu of the BNC coaxial cable to connect the camera to the DVR.
