I have the Night Owl 8 Channel DVR 4 Camera 5MP Security System from Costco and wanted to know if I buy the CAB-UL2-100VPA cable, can I talk thru the app to the camera connected with the audio cable, or do I need to buy the microphone ?

In order to record audio, you will need to have the Night Owl Microphones to record the audio. These Night Owl cables will allow you to connect the microphone to the DVR, however, without the microphone, you will not be able to record any audio. Also, please keep once you have the microphone connected, this will still not allow you to speak through the application since none of the cameras that come with the Night Owl system have the capability for 2-way audio. Currently, only our Wireless cameras are 2-way audio capable. Thank you for choosing Night Owl.

Bought Night Owl 8 Channel DVR 4 Camera 5MP Security System from Costco. Question is simple; What type and size cable clips are recommended or required to secure the cables to structures? A basic question that I can't seem to an answer.

Good Afternoon Roger. Cable clips are not required for installation. Every customer's setup and configuration differs, to some degree. The cable included with this system is a 1/8" cable and roughly 3/16 in diameter. Likely, a cable clip for an RG59 cable would suffice. Yes. However, the cable is not intended to be overexposed to the elements. If installed outside, you should not leave the cable too exposed. For instance, under an eave or awning would be fine. I have a couple cameras which will be further away than 60' to the DVR. I am considering purchasing BNC female to female adapters and connecting two 60' cables. The distance for those cameras will be about 75' from the DVR. Will that work?

Looking at ordering you wire extension for the DVR and I see a yellow and a red connectors on the existing wire. In the replacement package you only show a coupler for the yellow end. Don't i need to also have one for the red ended wire?

Good Afternoon, No, you do not need an extension adapter for the red portion of the cables. The red (power) portion ends are male-to-female and will connect to each other. The yellow power ends are both female. Thus we include a male-to-male adapter for the yellow video portion. Keep in mind, the To Camera end of each cable will point out to the camera, while the To DVR ends will always point/connect to the DVR. Thank you for choosing Night Owl!

We do not recommend connecting 3 BNC cables to each other, as this will lead to video distortion and degradation. Instead, if you need to go that far out from the DVR, we recommend purchasing one of our video baluns and using a single Ethernet cable run. Hello Sogwa, We do not currently have any 200 ft. cables. However, you can purchase 2 of our 100 ft. cables and connect them together or buy one of our video baluns and use a single Ethernet cable run. Oftentimes, we recommend the later approach so as not to affect your video quality.
