CAM-PT624-B is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good camera (oops Not PTZ just PT). Once you figure out how to set this camera up it works pretty well. A user guide or YouTube video on how to setup would be nice Night Owl.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replacement camera I used this to replace one of the same model which I had mounted outside for 3 years. Not bad for an indoor camera. Very sharp picture on the new one. Highly recommended. Great value for the money

I just recently bought a 16 channel system that came with the 14 bullet camera and the awesome ptz camera.  My question is can i use 2 pt cameras also for in my house while having the ptz camera working outside?

Asked by: Specialk
Good Morning, Currently our DVRs are only compatible with one PTZ camera at a time. The DVR only has one DIP Switch which means only one PTZ camera can be connected at a time. Thanks for choosing Night Owl.

What does the "RS-485 Cable" connection connect to and how? This seems to control the pan/ tilt but no instructions with camera nor on website.

Asked by: Tom from NY
The 1 x 100 FT BNC/RS485 Cable connects from your camera to the DVR. Look for the PT port on the back of the DVR to connect the PT camera options. Thanks for choosing Night Owl.

Re: CAM-PT624-B This camera is rated for "Indoor use only." I have an enclosed (2 sides) breezeway which NEVER gets rained upon where I desire to place the camera. Living in FL where temperatures hardly ever go below 50 (F) can I use this camera?

I've had the previous model of this camera, the pt-sh420 on the underside of the roof of my house on the peak above our garage door, it has been up there for 2 years through numerous sub-zero and100+ degree days , through hail storms, ice storms, heavy rains, dry spells, whatever - and aside from slowing down to a complete crawl during extremely cold weather or twice or so a year messing up and getting stuck on auto cruise mode, it has functioned marvelously regardless of the conditions outside. the night vision is great, it's very long - from about 20 feet off the ground it illuminates 50 feet of front yard and well into the street out front. Alas, after it's eight hundredth day of service, it has begun to show it's age. It doesn't move as fast as it once did, maybe about 90 percent of the original speed. It also has a noticeable whirring noise now when it pans up or down, something that's not present when panning side to side. One time it got stuck on autocruise just spinning around in a circle endlessly. It did this for almost a week while i was out of town - the footage was funny to watch, but i unplugged and replugged the power and it has resumed normal operation since. I am now looking at getting this model, which i hope is the same or better quality than my original one i got for $70 from fry's years ago. I know it says indoor use only but at that price, it's more than paid for itself in its service to our security at home.
