Rated 1 out of 5 by Rangerprato from Worse camera ever I received this camera as a gift 3 months ago and since then, i have only been able to get a successful connection through my phone less than 5 times. The connection between your device and the camera is not successful 95% of time. I emailed night owl asking for assistance or a firmware update and never received an answer back. This camera is only good as a paperweight and as frustration trigger for the user. Do yourself a favor and don't pirchase this camera - EVER! - and if you value customer service, the consider buying your cameras from a different company.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Booo from Great for the henhouse I was given this camera last year as a early Christmas present and it has worked out wonderful for what I needed it for, to spy on my henhouse! I just bought another one through a dealer on eBay for my smaller birds. The app works great on my iPad and the second one hooked right up, now I can spy on both houses of chickens. My husband was recently in China and the app on his iPad mini worked great to where he watched them and on occasion caught me in the henhouse cleaning and was able to talk to me through the camera.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Darwin Cooper from Doggy Monitor I am so happy that Night Owl now has a wireless camera! We have had a Night Owl security system in our home for two years and have thoroughly enjoyed the security and reliability it has afforded. We have now added two of these Pan Tilt Wireless IP cameras to the mix. I am fairly good with technology and didn’t have any trouble getting them set up. As I was configuring them, I had the manual open from Night Owls website, which provided me backup just in case. So far I am really liking the convenience of the Pan Tilt and the two way audio. I’m not going to lie, I bought one of these cameras solely to place on my dog’s kennel. When I go to work I leave my two dogs in their kennel. With this camera I not only receive motion alerts when they move but I can also talk to them if they start barking. The crazy look on their face when they hear my voice is priceless. Time and time again, lol. I have not really experienced any downside to the cameras. Overall, a really great purchase for the price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ArmyMan1945 from Gets The Job Done I purchased this product for ease of use and simple set up. I wanted to watch a small section of the inside of my house without running wires all over the place, so this camera looked like it would be perfect for my needs. I am a pretty technically inclined so I knew I would be able to handle any issue I ran into. Side bar: I own all Android products because of their customization features and easy integration with other products. I don’t like that Apple tactically forces you to use all Apple products. Nothing wrong with their products, I just like to keep my options open with integration & customization of my gadgets. Initially, I connected the wireless camera to my cell phone using the Pro application, this process took longer than I would have liked, but I discovered it was user error. Downloading the app was simple and free. The interface of the app was simple to navigate too. The delay issue came in when I attempted to connect my phone to the camera. Fortunately, I did not need to call tech support because there was a user manual on the Night Owl website. After reading thru the manual I realized my issues were simple fixes. First, when I was connecting the camera to the Pro app for the first time, I didn’t realize that my phone needed to be on the Wi-Fi network. I didn’t think phone connection type should matter, but apparently this is a requirement for the initial setup. Nonetheless, once I connected my phone to Wi-Fi, the setup was speedy (approx. 5 minutes)…..until it was time for the camera to display in live view. For some reason, the “Device” was added to the app but the picture would not appear. I kept receiving a “cannot connect” message. Apparently, my phones software was out of date and wasn’t compatible with the camera and application. Now, I was a little reluctant to upgrade my phone software just to use this camera. All sorts of issues and changes can happen when you upgrade a cell phone, but I decided to give it a shot. It took about 15 min for my phone to download and install the newest software (Android 5.1.1). Once I installed the newest software I went through the camera steps once again. This time I made sure I was on my Wi-Fi network… after about 3 minutes of setup time the camera worked flawlessly. The picture was clear and the sound was crisp. There is about a 1 second delay between camera and viewing but that is pretty good considering that this is through Wi-Fi and I have a lot of devices on my network eating up bandwidth. My daughter’s phone is brand new and it connects to the system perfectly. After I learned all the necessary required steps (Wi-Fi for initial setup & phone updates) setup was quick and easy. My wife’s phone had android version 5.0.1., it worked fine, but I upgraded the software anyway just to be safe. I was nervous that I could only use the system when I was connected to Wi-Fi but when we went out to dinner all of our phones were connected, and viewing the system at the same time. I think 3 at one time is the limit. I was actually shocked the camera didn’t delay any further considering 3 were on at the same time. I love the pan/tilt feature of this camera! I can look around the room without moving the cameras location. I recommend this camera but I will say for initial setup, you should make sure your phone is connected to Wi-Fi and upgraded to the newest software. In addition, their website has a detailed user manual for the camera. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND reading this before you try to setup the camera. It will save you steps in the long run. I would have saved a lot of time if I read this before starting.

Rated 1 out of 5 by KJ_not_happy from Anyone else have problems with video stream? I brought 4 of these cameras in February 2016. They all have the same problem. The video stream stops displaying. The problem happens when they go from night to day mode or day to night. The cameras click as they try to adjust and then the video stream drops. I have tried working with support on the issue since March but they can't find the problem or fix it. They sent replacement cameras (some defective) but these also have the same problem. I was really thinking these were going to be good cameras but with the unreliable video stream they are worse than the old cameras I had. Those were 640x480 but they always worked. What good is a 1 year warranty when they won't fix the problem and won't let you speak to a manager. I field a compliant with BBB for the problem. I hope they can get my money back. I think 6 months of working with support is more than enough time for them to resolve the issue. DON'T BUY these cameras and be careful buying other products from Night Owl. They have a C- for their BBB rating. That should be an indicator of their reputation. Not really interested in customer service.
