Can the integrated backup battery be serviced (replaced) when it eventually goes bad in 2-3 years?

Unfortunately, we do not have this service yet. if you have purchased an extended warranty through the vendor you will be able to replace this unit with a warranty claim. Night Owl offers a 1-year Manufacturer warranty. Best Regards

I cannot add my camera to HDA Series Software Bundle for my PC. I keep receiving a fail notification.

Are you using the correct software bundle for your system? We do have different software for different systems. Additionally, are you sure you are correctly entering the password for your DVR when adding the system to the software? It must be entered verbatim. this DVR has audio inputs. i have connected a mic but i have no sound? there is no option in the settings to enable audio?

Please ensure that the audio input port number and channel port number match. Additionally, within live view, ensure that audio is not muted for the channel in question. Can the Night Owl 493A camera be mounted on the outside of a structure exposed to direct rain and sunlight?

When installing your cameras outside, Night Owl strongly recommends placing them under shelter of some kind. They are weatherproof rated, but overexposure to the elements will drastically reduce their lifespan. We recommend an eave or awning, if available. Thanks!
