CONFUSING COMPLEX set up AFTER all the cameras are connected (the easy part) You have to create an admin password and must connect to internet using Ethernet cable (can use a range extender with Ethernet port) if ur modem is in another room. .. anyhow once connected to internet you are asked to download the mobile app .. fine ..but I still cannot view my live feed or figure out how to record / playback or pretty much do anything once connected because the options given don't make sense and the manuals are bulky and confusing. I'm starting to get REALLY frustrated ..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I am a fan Two things I like about this Night Owl: 1. Cameras are high quality, well built. The quality of the picture is good. You should set the downstream to HD to get clearer picture. 2. It's very easy to set up. It took me only a few minutes to download the app to my phone, scan in the code on the DVR, and I was ready to view the video on all of my cameras through my phone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NAS Server or Cloud recording Hi, Is there a way to record directly on a NAS server or get a scheduled backup on a cloud or NAS server ? Overall, pretty satisfied. Base set up is pretty easy but gets frustrating when you go on a more personalized set up. Quality of cameras 10/10.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very Good... But need help with the Live View. My Mom bought the Night Owl HD 1080p in the U.S. and brought it here in the Philippines. Already installed it and downloaded the app for remote viewing through mobile phone or iPad. We followed every step on how to configure. First day it worked. But the following day, we can't view it already on our iPad/phones. We used the scan and also the IP Address but same result. Please help. Thanks!

Do u have to have internet connection, i do not care to access via smart phone or access via internet.

No. You only need an Internet connection if you are wanting to view remotely on a smart device, PC or Mac. Instead, you can simply connect the DVR to a TV via HDMI and live view, view recordings and access all of your DVR's features from there. Thank you for choosing Night Owl!

I don't have a Cell phone or tablet. I do have a laptop and a desktop. Can I use them instead?

Yes, you can remotely view this system on a PC or MAC. You will simply need to download the CMS software from our Support Site and configure it to your DVR to begin viewing. Please: 1) Go to www.nightowlsp.com 2) Click on Support 3) Enter AHD10 in the search bar 4) Scroll down and select Click Here to Access Remote Viewing Software Downloads 5) Download and install the compatible CMS software. Do these camera's have audio, is it an additional add on or not available in the AHD10-841? The back of the DVR has audio inputs but the package came with no wiring

The DVR is audio capable, but this system does not come equipped with audio enabled cameras. You can add on microphones or audio enabled cameras to it, as you can expand up to 4 more cameras. I am looking to install this system at a lake cabin that does not have internet access.  I would like to just use it offline with the DVD storing the video.  Is this possible?  Will it allow me to install without the internet?

Yes, this system functions without an Internet connection. You will be able to connect the DVR to a TV or monitor via HDMI and you can view your recordings, live view and adjust DVR settings without the Internet.
