Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great System At A Great Price! I bought this system to replace one from another manufacturer that didnt support sound. This system is just as good if not better than the other. The computer controls have it all, and pretty easy to understand. The picture quality is way better than what i was expecting for such a cheap price. System setup couldn't be any easier. I called tech help a few times to help with internet access, and every time the techies were very friendly and very helpful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Quality! I bought this from BJ's at $199.99 on Black Friday. This are great security cameras. I downloaded the app and the CMS on my laptop, you can watch it from anywhere in the world as long as you have Internet :) The only downside is that the DVR doesn't support WiFi, I had to buy a 20 ft Ethernet cable. But it still deserves 5 Stars! (EXCELLENT!)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from nice system This is my second Night Owl system. Great improvements! Set up was fast and incredibly easy. My only issue is the smart phone app. Kills the battery very fast, within 6 hrs, and once I'm away from my wireless router, I can't view live feed. It is advertised that you can. What is the point if you can't view live feed? Other than that, pretty happy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ez hookup & A+ customer service Brought this unit from an authorized local national chain store that carry Night Owl products, I was missing contents; called chain store to explain issue to them; only for them to refer me to Night Owl. I contacted NIght Owl and Tisha immediately mailed out missing contents without asking alot of questions. I haven't had time to see how well it works, that is yet to be seen; but in a week or two I will resume this review.. Ez hookup but unit review is yet TBD (To Be Determined)...

Is there a reset button to re-start the initial first time 'AUTO' setup screen? Someone was trying to set it up and the username doesn't match, they may have entered 'admin' which doesnt match! How do I install capabilities and add alaptop?

We purchased this set and the first night they were installed one of the cameras locked on night view and will not come off. What are your suggestions to fix it? The other cameras are fine.

Are the cameras water proof

No, the cameras are not waterproof, but they are weatherproof. This means they can withstand minimal moisture and dirt debris if installed outdoors. We strongly recommend installing them under shelter of some kind if placed outside. Thank you!

Do you have to have internet to use this system? We cannot get service where we live. As long as camera images are downloaded to a hard drive that's ok. Can you erase and tape over or is 1TB all you get?

Good Afternoon, No, Internet service is not required for the system to function. You will be able to view it on a TV or Monitor. However, without the Internet you will not be able to view it on a smart device, PC or Mac. The recordings will be stored on the HDD. By default, the HDD is set to overwrite old footage when it becomes full. Thanks for choosing Night Owl!

We've had this system for awhile now  and just recently installed it. After setting it up, the daytime vision was amazing. However, the nighttime vision is completely blurry and we can't see anything! Is there something we're missing?

Good Afternoon. There are a number of factors that aid in determining the Night Vision distance you will receive with your camera. These factors include: 1) the amount of ambient light in the area the camera is located (more ambient lighting the better), 2) whether the camera is set on a fixed object (camera should not be pointing out into blackness but rather focused on something) and 3) the number of LEDs your camera has (the more LEDs the more Night Vision distance you will receive). Hi, I am trying to decide between the NVR and DVR, what is the main difference? Is the NVR better? Do I need to have a certain amount of Mbps from my internet provider to have this system?

The NVR is a Network Video Recorder that uses digital IP cameras and PoE cabling. Most of the processing is done at the camera level with this system. The DVR is a Digital Video Recorder that uses BNC connected cameras and BNC coaxial cabling. The NVR is a higher end system that offers more networking possibilities than the DVR. We recommend a minimum 3.0 Mbps upload and download speed for remote viewing with our systems. Thanks for choosing Night Owl!
