Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome product!! I have bought my second product from this company as the features are very easy to use as advertised. I especially like the remote playback feature. It's The easiest of all products i have used in the past. 100 degrees of wide view angle let's me view more Realestate. It would be perfect if you included longer BNC cables in the future. 100+ feet would be nice

Rated 2 out of 5 by from DVR Tried to hook it up. DVR does not support logitech wireless keyboard and mouse. My dvr is located in my drop down ceiling of office and need to be able to access dvr . Put it back in the box and installed old dvr. Let me know if you have an alternative solution or another vendor that will work. Disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's just what I wanted I chose to install myself. 10 cameras, bought 6 more to finish out the 16 channel DVR, just because I could. Installation is not for the faint of heart. The attic is hot. I'm talking sauna hot. Hydration is important if you attempt this yourself. Hip roofs will require you choose to also install soffit lights. Just to make your project easier. Fishing wires with a fish tape in soffits is impossible. Get a fish pole for this project. Up the soffit light hole. What a pain in the gizmo.... Massive jumble of wires, pre-planning and a sharpie labeling everything in advance. Mark and pre-drill your holes from apps aiming, 2-1/2 months by myself on the weekends, and I AM IMPRESSED! If only the DVR had explicit instructions on all its features. You can set up each camera for its own motion trigger areas, set up another camera to record when motion is triggered by another camera, but there are no instructions about this. the electric usage on 10 cameras so far with a lot of motion triggered by leaf and wind movements has only added appx 5kwh per day. This is at full frame motion trigger areas on all. Electric usage and DVR recording space will improve when I edit the motion trigger areas. A month of recording 10 cameras before overwrite occurs. You couldn't pay me enough to do this for a living for people. I could not be more pleased with this camera system. The night vision on the cameras provides a low red glow from the cameras on the corners of the house, so any moron who is paying attention will know they are on video once they get close enough to see it. A very wise investment on my part, but WHAT a one person project.

What is the average recording time saved on dvr? 10 days? 30 days? 60 days? I am replacing old analog cameras and have yet to replace them all and noticed that I'm only getting about 3 weeks of saved video and want to know if that is normal? Thank You

Asked by: Zeravlad
There are a number of factors that play a role. The size of your HDD, for instance, will determine your units storage capacity. Additionally, the resolution of the cameras. Higher the resolution, the more space the recordings consume. Your record settings will also factor in. By default our systems are set to motion record to conserve HDD space. On motion record, the amount of traffic in your camera's field of view will determine how much they capture and store. Also, the number of cameras you have connected will have an effect. All of this combined and determining how long your HDD will last with your setup would be impossible for us to calculate. However, 3 weeks with an 8 camera setup with a moderate amount of traffic is not abnormal. Thank you for choosing Night Owl!

There is no specific HDMI requirement. Our system should be compatible with most HDMI's. Please double-check the HDMI cord to verify it is working and try the included HDMI cable with the DVR to verify there is no issue with the system. Thank you for choosing Night Owl!

Hey  This camera come with waterproof? How long I can go back replying the recording, can I go back after 6 months to reply back or more months. Can I see the camera it my house in tv?

Asked by: Maaz
The cameras are not waterproof, but they are weatherproof rated. This means they can withstand minimal moisture and dirt debris. How long recordings are stored on your HDD depends on how long it takes the HDD to become full. By default, the HDD will begin overwriting old footage when it becomes full. And yes, you can view your system on a TV by connecting it via HDMI or VGA. Thanks for choosing Night Owl!
