Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hip Roof Soffits Reduce Effectiveness of NV Day time video is fabulous, but unfortunately due to the soffits on my ranch home being so low to the ground, it reduces the Night Vision effectiveness because the cameras are so close to the soffit. It's great that the soffit protects the cameras from the elements, but it reduces low light capability when the soffit reflects the light in the top view. It would nice to somehow adjust the field of view with software to increase the effectiveness, but from my experiences with dealing with security cameras, you'll have to spend more money to get the better quality cameras that are adjustable. Does this mean my current NV HD cameras are ineffective totally? No. Not at all, but if you want a better field of low light cameras, you'll need to spend more for the upgrades.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Been installed since August 29,2016 and the quality of day and night vision is GREAT. Wish all these cameras had wider field of view. 180 degrees would be best, even 120' would be better especially on dome camera. Easy to call and get help.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing for the price! For the money you can't beat the system, it's not perfect but works quite well. Camera quality is excellent on the home monitor but the online picture not as good based on my internet speed. I would buy it again without hesitation.

Can you talk to someone and hear the person at the same time using this camera? Want to have it to see my front door and be able to communicate back and forth with the person outside.

This camera does not have two-way audio. It can detect audio up to 20 ft. away, but cannot be used as an intercom or speaker. I am going to pair this camera (CAM-HDA10W-DMA) with your 2TB HD standalone DVR (HDA10P-DVR8BB-2TB). Are these two products compatible and will I be able to record AUDIO, which is very important? Thank you for your assistance.

Audio is not recorded (no sound during playback). Why? Audio is heard live in the speakers. Tick boxes are checked in the Substream menu. Channel not muted. Yet, can't hear any sound during playback. System: CAM-HDA10W-DMA and AHD10B-81-RS

Have you verified that the Audio Input Port # directly corresponds to the Video Input Port #. If you are trying to detect audio for an audio enabled camera on Video Input # 1, make sure the white RCA jack is connected to Audio Input # 1. Can this be mounted on a wood pole?

Good Afternoon. It is manufactured for installation on a flat surface, such as a wall or ceiling. However, I am sure many of our customers use creative installation methods. As long as the camera is not overly exposed to weather elements or susceptible to theft, how and where you choose to install it is up to you. It says audio enabled but how do i connect the audio?

This camera comes equipped with a 60 ft. Video/Power/Audio cable. Connect the white Audio tip coming from the camera to the white audio portion of the 60 ft. cable. At the DVR level, connect the white audio connector to an Audio Input. Make sure the Audio Input and Video Input #'s are the same. To detect audio on a camera plugged into Video Input port #1, use Audio Input port #1. Lastly, make sure audio is not muted for the channel in question by accessing the DVR and checking that channel's settings. Thank you for choosing Night Owl!

I have a Poseidon series 8 channel DVR will this camera work with my system? I am looking to add a camera with audio. Can you also recommend A PTZ camera I can use with this DVR. Also are there any software updates?
