Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality Cameras and not so great support A couple of weeks ago I purchased a DVR with 4 cameras (8 camera max) from Costco. It works great and has great resolution and night vision. Camera's have sturdy outer metal shells and are built great. Got the setup to work very well, however the problems started when I wanted to add a 5th camera and ordered directly from Nightowl. I bought a camera (CAM-HDA10W-BU) jff the Nightowl website which is now pretty much the replacement for the nice metal shell 1080p cameras that came with my Costco setup I installed it 2 days ago and it had a very poor picture and really bad image when in night vision mode. The camera was up for one day and the video feed stopped working. The camera is cheap looking and all plastic. I put in a support ticket to return the camera you have to go through what's known as the webstore to do returns and you can only email them. It has been 1 week and no reply, I have tried repeated call to the support phone number etc and they always say they can do nothing because the webstore is a separate area. I like the current setup I have but don't think I will be dealing with Nightowl in the future..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have this system for over a month now. It does the job. Took a little bit of work to set up, but with a son who is a whiz at technical issues, it was not that bad. I have the app on my phone and I can see what is going at any time of the day.

Will these cameras work with the B-F9 dvr?

Does the camera come in black?

i bought 4 of these cameras to go with a HDA10L-DVR8 that i upgraded from a 720p system, when the temp gets below 28' f one of the cameras shuts down ( always the same one) is this a known issue? other 3 work fine when temps drop

How are these cameras outdoors in New England weather? If I live in Boston ma will that be a problem? Also, how do I set them up with a DVr? Do i need a monitor just for these somewhere in my house? Please advise. Thank you

Your cameras have an operating temperature range of -14 degrees to 122 degrees F. We do not recommend using them outside of this range. Additionally, the cameras are weatherproof (meaning they can withstand dirt, debris, and jets of water). If you will be placing your cameras outside, Night Owl strongly recommends placing them under an eave or awning to maximize their life span. If you leave them too exposed to the elements, they will only last a short time. We strongly recommend having a TV or monitor available for initial setup. After that, you can view them via our remote viewing software of a smart device, PC or Mac, as long as the DVR is connected to a working router or modem. Thanks for choosing Night Owl.

Will this camera work with 8 channel 960h DVR. And is night vision good , I have had multiple thefts at night. Need good night vision.

No, this HD camera will not work with a 960H DVR. It will function with our AHD10, XHD and HDA series DVRs. The night vision is up to 100 ft. Thank you for choosing Night Owl!

What is the length for motion detection?

There is no set length for motion detection. The camera has Night Vision up to 100 ft. During the day, much of the distance you receive will depend on your setup. If you find that you are receiving too many notifications, you can reduce the sensitivity. Likewise, you can increase the sensitivity if you need more. Thank you for choosing Night Owl!
