Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great cameras and features if you are tech savy I set this up at my office and it has come in handy for a couple of issues already. The cameras a fairly decent at night but the subject needs to be about 30 ft away to get a decent view of them. The actual setup for the cameras and recorder was simple as heck. plug them all in and set the cameras where you want them and it's a done deal. The recorder has a decent amount of space so that you can go back for a couple of weeks to a month depending on the video settings you choose. A nice feature was that you can set the cameras to record only when something moves into view and block out areas that won't trigger the camera to start recording. This came in extremely useful for one particular room that had a window that people would walk by. I only wanted the camera to video people that came into the shop. I blocked out the window and viola it only turns on for when the door is opened. If you are techy you can turn on the other features for viewing the cameras over the internet. It's not easy because you have to know how to setup pinholes through your router's firewall. I had to do this for my broadband cable router and my separate wifi router. It was a pain. The interface to record and view on a monitor is easy and simple. It comes with a mouse that you can control the recorder via wireless.

What is the newest firmware DVR08C_V110402 or DVR08C_V120813? I lost my mobile iPad connection. Is that my problem? I am using DVR08C_V120813. I am using a Poseidon-85 on a Windows 8.1 system.

Good Morning Peter, The firmware version of your device will not cause connectivity issues. Are you trying to view on your iPad or on your PC?

My Poseidon-85 system time is thirty minutes ahead of the actual clock time. How do I correct this?

I have changed absolutely nothing to my Poseidon dvr or router.  Everything has been working fine for over 3 years.  But now for some reason I can't login to the dvr over my network.  I verified the IP and all other network setting. Any ideas??

Please check to verify that you have the latest firmware on your system. To do so, log into your DVR and pull up the Main Menu. Then click on System icon followed by Advanced then Maintain to access the SYSTEM MAINTENANCE page of your DVR. This option allows you reset the DVR to factory default settings, update system software(firmware), and set system auto reboot time. When enabling the auto-reboot function, you can setup system to restart regularly to clear up some temporary storage memory. I have 2 Poseidon-85's. 8 cameras on one & 7 cameras on the other. Came back from a weekend and only 4 cameras are working on each unit. What would cause that to happen and how can I fix it. The units have been operating fine for 2 years until now.

I would say power adapters too. I had one fail within a week of having the system.

I have one ptz camera connected to a poseidon dvr. It has stopped "recording" detected motion to the HD. It worked fine for a number of months, now no search files are found on it. I have reset to defaults numerous times, & checked motion settings

My unit was working perfectly then it quit, the power light and the HDD lights are flashing but nothing shows up on the monitor.
