All Night Owl analog cameras are compatible with all Night Owl analog DVRs and AHD DVRs. Night Owl's HD cameras are not compatible with Night Owl's analog DVRs. I'm using this system at work strictly for monitoring purposes. I'm only using 2 cameras. I can look at each full screen or split the screen four ways. Is there a way to split the screen 1/2 and 1/2 so I can see both at 1/2 screen @ the same time?

No, the L model will only work with the Night Owl LITE up. Apps are not up gradable.

Why doesn't the Nightowl Lite App work if WiFi is turned on. I wish to use this on an ipad which is WiFi Only. The App works fine on my Iphone 5 if WiFi is off.

After the 500GB dvr is full does it still record by deleting the older recordings or will I need to delete the footage manually?

All Night Owl DVRs are programmed to continue recording on top of the oldest records. First in First out. You do not need to delete the records as they will be overwritten by the newer recordings.
